# Getting started

On Roost, four steps take a new user from zero to their first trade or launch.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Step 1. Connect a wallet.

Use any EVM wallet that supports custom networks. Add Robinhood Chain (chain ID 4663) by following the official guide at [docs.robinhood.com/chain/connecting](https://docs.robinhood.com/chain/connecting/), then press the connect button in the Roost interface. The app also offers a light and dark theme toggle.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Step 2. Fund the wallet with ETH.

ETH is the native gas asset on Robinhood Chain and the default payment token on Roost. Bridge ETH to Robinhood Chain before trading or launching. To trade a stock-paired market, hold the relevant Stock Token instead.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Step 3. Explore the markets.

The home page lists all Roost markets. Use the time filters (All, 24H, 3D, 7D) and the sort options to find recent buys, new launches, or the largest markets by market cap and volume.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Step 4. Trade or launch.

Open any token page to trade from the buy panel, or press "Launch token" to start your own market. Both paths are described below.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://roostlaunch.gitbook.io/roost-docs/use-roost/getting-started.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
