# How to trade

Every Roost market is a Uniswap V4 pool with a Roost hook, and the token page is the trading venue.

### Step 1. Open the token page.

Find the market from the markets list or a direct link. Check the ticker, contract address, pair, launch time, creator, fee mode and tax rate before trading.

### Step 2. Review the market.

The page shows price, market cap, volume, liquidity, the chart and recent trades. Thin liquidity means larger price impact.

### Step 3. Enter the trade. 

In the buy panel, enter the amount of the payment token to spend. The quote shows the expected output and the token's tax before anything is signed.

### Step 4. Confirm in the wallet. 

Approve the transaction in your own wallet. The final amount can differ from the quote if the market moves before confirmation; slippage settings cap how much movement the transaction accepts.

Selling works the same way in reverse: sellers spend the launched token and receive the payment token.
